Pim Spoor is a writer and self-proclaimed curator of taste. He worked at Vogue, Esquire and LINDA. before whirlwinding as Digital & Social Editor for ELLE. He also likes to flaunt on social media.
Unlike many others, his love for fashion did not start at early childhood for Pim . He was creative however. From memorising choreographies of famous music videos to copying looks from boybands and film heartthrobs. He unconsciously analysed the wardrobes of his favourite male characters in tv series (from Glee and Gossip Girl to White Collar and Mad Men).
It was reading the first issue of Dutch Vogue that sparked his interest to deep dive into the history, the art and the cultural meaning of fashion and its billion dollar business behind it. Starting in 2017, Pim quickly worked his way through the Dutch fashion world working for Vogue, later moving on to become a news and lifestyle digital editor for LINDA.nl while maintaining the position of fashion editor at Esquire simultaneously.
'Through fashion you can express not only your personal taste, but also who you are or who you aim to be'
During his time at Esquire and after its closure in November 2021, Pim realised that men's fashion is incredibly underrepresented in the Netherlands. He uses his keen eye and quick-mouthed, witty pen (keyboard) to share his views on menswear and highlight developments in the ever-changing way how men dress.
Pim's work has been featured in Dutch issues Vogue & Vogue Man, Esquire, FD Persoonlijk en LINDA.meiden. Find an overview of his work here. Since March 2022, Pim holds the role of Digital & Social Editor at ELLE Netherlands. He currently resides in Amsterdam.
